As a litigation paralegal, Debra Healy has more than twenty-five years of experience representing plainti s in the areas of domestic violence, civil rights, employment law, mass toxic tort, and catastrophic personal injury. As the sole paralegal in these cases, Debra was integral to their success at summary judgment as well as achieving successful appeals to the Ninth Circuit.
After earning a certificate in Paralegal Studies at the College of Legal Arts, Debra worked full-time as an AmeriCorps paralegal. She passed the NALA Certified Paralegal exam and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies and a master’s degree, summa cum laude, in Conflict Analysis/Dispute Resolution. Thereafter, she completed doctoral coursework in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis on managing workplace conflict.
Debra has taken numerous intensive trainings in mediating workplace disputes and mediated more than seventy-five pre-litigated workplace conflict cases. Additionally, she has provided training in managing workplace conflict for both public agencies and private entities. Furthermore, she mediated numerous foreclosure avoidance cases. She presented at the annual conferences for the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) and the Association of Conflict Resolution (ACR). She has also arbitrated numerous cases under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which were resolved based on her written findings.
Debra’s innate sense of empathy, relentless desire to understand, and passion for righting injustice continue to fuel both her life and her career.
